Purple is popular this season

Nidderdale Moorland Group

We have being sent this beautiful picture by local wildlife photographer, Sara Cremer.

The recent damp weather followed by warm, sunny days is bringing the bloom out on the ling heather and turning the higher areas of the dale into the colourful, purple landscape we love at his time of year.

Local beekeepers have also now returned their hives to the moors to take advantage of this important late source of nectar and pollen for the honeybees before autumn comes upon us.
